A Canton ivory and painted paper fan
carved and pierced with figures at leisure before buildings and flowering branches, the paper fan painted with European figures and buildings on river banks before mountains, and with birds amongst flowering foliage in shaped cartouches, the reverse decorated with Chinese officials and attendants on terraces -- 11in. (27.7cms) diam., 19th Century, (slight old wear, a few minor tears).
