A Chinese Export mother-of-pearl edged square box and cover
inset with five reverse glass paintings depicting European and Oriental ladies holding sprays of flowers and a bird, all before fishing boats and junks in tree strewn river landscapes, the rims and interior lined in mother-of-pearl and incised with stylised floral motifs -- 3¼in. (8.2cm.) square, 18th Century, (one panel cracked).
