The case with large hinged baluster handle to the flat top with rectangular escapement viewing aperture, glazed sides and on bun feet, front door push-release button to the left side of the case revealing a circular silvered engine-turned dial with engraved Roman chapters and blued steel hands, the gilt mask with foliate engraved spandrels, the five pillar twin chain fusee movement with underslung lever escapement beneath the gilt cruciform platform with flat hairspring and cut bimetallic balance with gold compensation screws, Harrison's maintaining power, strike on a blued steel gong of circular section secured to the backplate signed Vulliamy 1357
