The pierced brass scroll frame with twin gut fusees, Harrison's maintaining power, deadbeat escape wheel with horizontal plane anchor escapement regulated by a brass balance wheel with five crossings and steel hairspring, rack strike on a bell above the plates, the skeletonised gilt Roman chapter ring with subsidiary seconds at XII, calendar ring above VI and signed in the centre Robt. Leck. JDB., an extended arbor from the motion work terminating with a worm-and-wheel engagement behind the tidal dial engraved The Moon's Age; the time of her southing and time of High Water at Leith, the disc cut with a window revealing a silvered dial behind calibrated for the moon's age within an outer 24-hour silvered chapter ring and within a further outer 24-hour gilt chapter ring; on a moulded ebonised base with bun feet and glass dome
