The matt silvered dial of regulator format signed Breguet Neveu & Cie No. 4980, eccentric hours and minutes dial (at XII) with Roman hour numerals and Arabic 10 minute intermarkers 60-10-20 et seque, gold hour and minute hands, subsidiary seconds dial with blued steel hand (at VII), the movement with going barrel, the top-plates numbered 4980, elliptical shaped platform numbered 23 carrying Earnshaw escapement, cut bimetallic balance with peripheral screws, undersprung blued steel helical balance spring with three leg adjusting assembly, adjustable flat spring detent clamped to banking block and with jewelled locking pallets, in deep brass bowl mounted in rectangular gimbal ring, contained in a two-tier mahogany box, the top with sliding lid to inner viewing port and with inset diamond shaped brass plaque inscribed No. 4980, external brass drop handles, double-ended winding key numbered 4980, inside the top tied a label reading No. 4980 Age des Huiles Juin 1851
