Case with pineapple finials to the bell top applied with foliate ormolu mounts, trailing floral gilt-metal caryatides to the angles, the sides with handles and foliate cast sound frets, the moulded base on large scrolling foliate feet, the dial signed Rich. D. Templer, London on a silvered sector in the arch flanked by subsidiary silvered rings for pendulum regulation and strike/silent, silvered arc above engraved with four tunes; A MARCH - SONG TUNE - GAVOT - MINUET, silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with original pierced blued steel hands, matted centre, foliate spandrels, the five pillar triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement playing music every three hours on thirteen bells via thirteen hammers with hour strike on a further bell, the foliate engraved backplate signed Templer within a foliate cartouche
