The case with gilt-metal baluster handle to the inverted bell top, foliate pierced and engraved gilt-brass sound frets to the sides and front door, the dial signed Dan.& Thos. Grignion from the late Mr. Quare, London on a silvered sector in the matted centre with mock pendulum and calendar apertures, narrow silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with blued steel hands, foliate spandrels, strike/silent ring in the arch, the five pillar twin fusee movement with later anchor escapement, strike/trip repeat on a bell, foliate engraved backplate
