The case with brass handle to the inverted bell top, later fishscale soundfrets to the sides and foliate pierced wood quarter frets to the door, the moulded base on block feet, the dial signed John Ellicott, London on the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with pierced blued steel hands, the matted centre with calendar aperture, foliate spandrels, strike/silent ring in the arch, the five pillar twin wire fusee movement with verge escapement and strike/trip repeat on a bell, the backplate similarily signed within foliate engraving
