One side with a youth clad in a mantle walking to the left, a walking stick in his right hand, a fillet in his hair, a strigil and sponge hanging to the left, and a rocky outcrop behind him, the other side with a youth walking to the right, a walking stick in his right hand, jumping weights hanging to the right, a slender Doric column to the left, a thin band as the groundline

Lot Essay

Beazley (Attic Red-figure Vase-painters, pp. 978-979) puts the Group of Ferrara T. 981 close to the Lewis Painter, the Agathon Painter and also the Euaion Painter.
