A LARGE ITALO-CORINTHIAN BLACK-FIGURED AMPHORA
circa early 6th century b.c.
Each side of the handle-zone with a pair of confronting panthers who share a single facing head, dot rosettes in the field, the body with a band of animals, one side with two goats facing a lion, the other side with a goat between panthers with facing heads, a lion under one handle, a small bird under the other, dot rosettes in the field, framed above and below by red, black and white bands, a band of triangle-filled metopes lower on the body, with red, black and white bands on and above the foot, on the mouth and on the neck
