A ROMAN BRONZE FIGURE OF VENUS
circa 1st century a.d.
Depicted nude, standing with her weight on her right leg, her left relaxed and bent at the knee, with broad hips and small breasts, holding a sphere in her left hand, her right hand lowered and projecting forward, wearing a crescent-shaped diadem in her center-parted hair which is tied in a chignon at the back, with two wavy tendrils falling on to each shoulder, her head tilted slightly to the right
