AN URARTIAN BRONZE CAULDRON ATTACHMENT
circa 8th century b.c.
In the form of the head of a winged bull, the large horns curving upward, the ears projecting horizontally, with a mass of wavy hair along the poll, the small round eyes under heavy arching brows, the hair a mass of waves on the back of the neck, with ringlets along the sides, the narrow face flaring into a wide nose and mouth, the preserved wing with a series chevroned feathers
