A LURISTAN BRONZE SITULA
circa 10th-9th century b.c.
The vessel slightly waisted, with a short everted rim, the scene framed above and below by a band of guilloche and a band of tongue, a rosette on the base, knobbed at the center, the frieze on the body depicting a bearded nobleman seated upon a throne with a duck head terminal at the back, his right hand lifted, a tripod before him with hoofed legs, supporting a tray of offerings, a male and female attendant standing before him, the first fanning with a feather, the second perhaps playing a stringed instrument
