SIX SYRIAN CYLINDER SEALS
circa early to mid 2nd millennium b.c.
Of black steatite and haematite, one engraved with a cloaked figure in a conical cap facing a winged deity and a female deity in a tightly-fitted garment; one with three standing figures each holding a staff; one with two worshippers before a deity, a guilloche between a griffin and a lion as the terminal; one with four worshippers facing a diminutive god beneath a crescent and a large star, two horizontal animals as the terminal; one with a couple facing a horseman; and one with a pattern of connecting lines and drilled holes
