The case with unusual gilt-brass handle to the shallow moulded inverted bell top, glazed sides, the moulded base on bracket feet, the dial signed 'Chas. Craig, Dublin', on a silvered arc in the arch above subsidiary rings for strike/silent and regulation, silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with pierced blued steel hands, the matted centre with mock pendulum and calendar apertures (lacking alarm disc) foliate spandrels, the five pillar twin fusee movement with later anchor escapement and strike on a bell, the backplate with wheatear engraving to the border and signed 'Chas. Craig, Dublin' within an engraved cartouche to the centre
