A REGENCY ORMOLU-MOUNTED AND BRASS-INLAID ROSEWOOD SIDE CABINET
The moulded rectangular top above a panelled frieze flanked by foliate inlay, above a pair of glazed doors, enclosing two adjustable shelves and flanked by turned baluster supports, on an inverted breakfront plinth base, waisted gadrooned tapering feet, the reverse branded 'V R' flanking a crown '1866 WINDSOR CASTLE ROOM 152' and a printed paper label inscribed 'WINDSOR CASTLE ROOM NO. 3 153 1866'

Provenance
Almost certainly supplied to King George IV, for Windsor Castle, and by descent to
HM King George VI (d.1952), by whom given to the vendor's father, a landscape gardener at Royal Lodge, Windsor, to replace furniture lost when his house was destroyed by bombing in 1940.
