Lot Essay

Frances Wiat was the second daughter and coheir of Thomas Crispe of Quex, Birchington, Kent, and wife of Edwin Wiat (c.1629-1714), Serjeant at Law and Member of Parliament for Maidstone for a mere eleven days in 1685. She married Edwin Wiat on 16 February 1664/5 at St. Mary Magdalene, London, and had by him a daughter, Frances, who died without issue.
