Lot Essay

A pupil of Alexandre Cabanel, Dieudonné was first exhibited at the Salon in 1876, and obtained a medal for his work in 1881. The present work dates of 1886 and betrays the influence of Cabanel in Dieudonnée's delicate and polished rendition of the female body.
