The divining rod
signed 'John Leech' (lower left) inscribed as title and further extensively inscribed 'this simple instrument is employed by those skilled in its use for detecting the presence of genius, where there are no outward indications observable. The rod being held in the right hand, becomes violently agitated on approaching the seat of the desired quality.'
