The moulded shaped rectangular top with later gilt-tooled red leather writing-surface above three walnut-lined frieze drawers to one side and three simulated drawers to the other with rocaille and cabochon chutes, on cabriole legs and foliate-wrapped sabots, the inside of one drawer with label 'PIETRO ACCORSI - ANTICHITA' and inscribed in ink '1523', stamped 'B PERI DIEZ' and 'JME' twice, 'ROCHE', and 'I.TUART', extensive restorations to the veneers of the frieze, the legs reveneered, the top possibly previously with veneered border

It has highly unusual to find a piece of furniture carrying the stamps of three ébénistes, as on this elegant bureau plat. It is likely to signal either a collaboration between cabinet-makers, perhaps one in the capacity of a retailer, or the fact that one of the cabinet-makers restored the piece.
