A PAIR OF ITALIAN BLUE-PAINTED AND GILTWOOD ATHENIENNES
Late 18th /early 19th Century
Each with lidded domed tops surmounted by a pine cone finial, supported by three winged female monopodiae, on a concave-sided cwnted triangular plinth centered by a leaf-wrapped column with a pierced spreading basket, on a turned base carved with scrolling foliage anthemia and acanthus husks, each side with a Grecian mask redecorated, the tops loose, lacking one wing, damage to both baskets, losses to carving, possibly originally with bowl
