The circular enamel dial with Arabic numerals and Arabic quarter hour numerals within a date ring, with two winding holes within a beaded bezel and glazed door above a marble pedestal with inset panel depicting putti beside a scribe's desk surmounted by a draped cushion with a maiden emblematic of Love lamenting a dove, to the right side a turned pedestal surmounted a flaming urn supported by ram's-headed monopodia, on a shaped plinth with beaded edge and with inset panel of playful putti, above a grey marble plinth, on turned toupie feet, the dial signed 'JV Carel /A PARIS', lacking pendulum, the dial signed 'Coteau'
