Comparable teste di carattere are in the Galleria dell'Accademia, Venice, George Knox, et al., Giovanni Battista Piazzetta: disegni, incisioni, libri, manoscritti, exhib. cat., Venice, 1983, nos. 16-24, illustrated. Professor Knox confirmed the attribution in a letter to the present owner dated 19 November 1995.
