etching with drypoint and engraving, 1656, second state (of three), a fairly good impression, with thread margins, with touches of grey wash to the beard and just below, a foxmark just inside the upper platemark, a pale spot on the right side of the window frame, some light-staining, remains of old adhesive on the reverse
