RENÉ BOIVIN
René Boivin was born in 1864 in Paris. At an early age he had established himself as an excellent designer and engraver. By the age of 30 he owned several workshops and was working in Rue St. Anastase. In 1893 he moved to Rue de Turbigo. He married Jeanne Poiret and together they attracted a sophisticated circle of wealthy clients. René died prematurely in 1917 and Jeanne took over control of the company. With her daughter Germaine and Juliette Moutard she continued creating some of the finest pieces of their time until her death in 1959.
The company still exists, now run by Jacques Bernard located on Ave. Montaigne.
