A mounted collection of 80 buttons, mainly of brass, many relating to the military, mostly French 18th century, including those of a 'Lieutenant des Maréchaux de France' of 1771-1790, an 'Aide-de-Camp' of 1775-1794, an officer of the 'Gardes du Corps du Comte d'Artois' 177--1791, of another of the 'Caronniers à pied et à cheval' 1792, an 'Invalide' of 1767-1786, a few of members of numbered regiments and a group of buttons from 'Troupes Bourgeoises' of 1789-90, and later buttons including a sailor of circa 1800 and an officer of a 'Regiment du Roi' of 1814-1815; a set of six brass buttons--1.25in.
