with silk bound shagreen hilt, oval iron tsuba applied in gilt, gilt bronze menuki modelled as quail and millet, black lacquered wood scabbard with leather cover, the blade with choji hamon -- 20in. (50.8cm) long, circa 1650, signed Suke Sada.
