Lot Essay

The unusual formation of four long drawers forming the upper section of this tallboy relates to one sold by Major Eustace Robb (+), Tew Park, Great Tew, Oxfordshire, Christie's house sale, 27-29 May, 1987, lot 131. In the latter example, the upper section consists of four long drawers surmounted by two short drawers divided by a corbel drawer.
