The rectangular padded back, arms and seat covered in beige floral woven wool, on channelled cabriole legs headed by scrolled brackets, on channelled scrolled feet, previously with castors, the back-right leg spliced

Lot Essay

The close resemblance between the legs of this chair and those of the pair of side chairs from Wentworth Woodhouse, lot 141, and the set of dining-chairs, lot 140, all attributed to Wright and Elwick, raises the possibility that this exceptionally unusual chair is by that firm.
