Contemporary German or Swiss chased and openwork gilt metal of flowers and foliate scrolls on gilded ground, sides with inset oval enamelled cartouche within ribbon-tied floral border, spine similarly decorated with 2 putti and oval centre engraved with cypher GMA, 2 hinged hasps chased with putti blowing on a horn, pale blue silk pastedowns, gilt edges. Provenance: GMA (binding).
