The Quiñones breviary was a radical departure from previous editions. The Biblical texts were expanded to include virtually all the New Testament and much of the Old, and it omitted almost all of the communal elements, such as the versicles and antiphons. It was thus much better suited to private devotion than earlier breviaries. Payen also printed three other breviaries (in 2°, 4° and small 8°) in the same year (Bohatta 167, 168 & 169). RARE: This edition not in Bohatta, Adams or Baudrier.
