Type: 111B. 13 large metalcuts and 24 smaller cuts, ILLUMINATED IN GOLD AND COLOURS BY A CONTEMPORARY HAND, architectural border to large cuts ruled in red and illuminated, liquid-gold initials and line-filler on alternate pink and blue ground, yellow capital strokes, ruled in red. 18th-century engraving on vellum of David playing the harp by Franc. Hubert mounted on front flyleaf and coloured by a contemporary hand. 18th-century black shagreen over thin wooden boards, two pin catches, edges gauffered and gilt (slight wear at upper hinge of front cover, some worming to flyleaves, lacking clasps). Provenance: Milan, Discalced Carmelites of the convent of St. Carolus (late 18th-century inscription recording gift to the convent library by Senatore Antonio Maria Erba); Amelia Rozea (inscription on pastedown).
