2 parts in one volume, 2° in 6's (279 x 181mm). Engraved architectural title by W. Hole with a bust of Homer at head and full-length figures of Achilles and Hector as supporters, portrait of Chapman on title verso, engraved dedication to the memory of Prince Henry, and engraved part title to the Odyssey with full-length figure of Homer. Woodcut ornaments. (A washed copy, some residual browning and occasional marginal soiling, title to the second part restored at margins, sub-titles to each part cancelled, the first part with blank G8 but without blank *1 and lacking the bifolium of additional sonnets to Sir Edward Philips, the second part without first and final blanks.) Red morocco by Rivière, triple gilt fillets, gilt-panelled spine, gilt turn-ins and edges. Provenance: Early annotations (washed out).
