(Title crease-marked, B1 badly stained, some catch-letters and words shaved away, I3 creased, rather browned.) Later boards with morocco lettering-piece. Second edition. Shakespeare's text was not published separately in the 17th century. Although Selden's play, first printed in 1677, was founded on the same story, Bartlett regards it as an original play not an adaptation. cf. Bartlett 169; Jaggard p. 282; Wing S-2396.

George Granville, Baron LANSDOWNE (1667-1735). The Jew of Venice. A comedy. As it is acted at the theatre in Little-Lincolns-Inn-Fields. London: Ber[nard] Lintott, 1701. 4° (218 x 166mm). Half-title. (Title a little torn and soiled at upper margin, following leaf with hole at outer margin, D2 with paper fault affecting 4 lines of text recto and verso, F1r slightly soiled, slight shaving of upper margins, paper a little frail.)
