A Cosway-style binding in later brown morocco gilt by Bayntun (Riviere), upper cover with inset original oval portrait miniature of Catherine, the miniature surrounded with gilt-tooled border, within an outer border of gilt-tooled decoration of rococo tools, stars, dots, double-fillet and roll-tool, the lower cover with similar gilt decorated outer border, the spine in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second and third, the others with repeat overall decoration of various rococo tools, dots and stars, gilt turn-ins, marbled-paper endleaves, gilt edges.
