8° (160 x 99mm). Half-title printed in blue, title printed in red and blue with woodcut border and holly-sprig decoration. Hand-coloured etched frontispiece and 3 plates by and after John Leech, 4 woodcut illustrations by W.J. Linton after Leech. (Title lightly washed slightly affecting border and a few letters, plates a little browned.) Mid 20th-century gilt crimson morocco by Bayntun (Riviere), the upper cover with inlaid design in red, blue, cream and yellow morocco finished with paint, after the frontispiece depicting Mr Fezziwig's Ball, set within an arched border of gilt fillets with a gilt mistletoe tool at the head and gilt holly-sprig cornerpieces, the lower cover with a double gilt fillet border, the spine gilt in 6 compartments and titled in 2, the others decorated with gilt tools, roll-tooled gilt turn-ins, gilt edges, original gilt- and blind-stamped cloth covers and spine, and one yellow endpaper laid down and bound in at the end.
