This bowl is similar in both shape and design, albeit a more simple design, to those in the Hatcher Cargo, circa 1643, sold in Christie's Amsterdam, 12 and 13 June 1984, lots 592 - 599. These are also illustrated by M. Rinaldi, Kraak Porcelain, p.161, pl.198. Compare also the similar bowl in the Boymans-van Beuningen Museum, Rotterdam, illustrated by C.J.A. Jörg, Oriental Porcelain, p.14, no.1.
