8° (232 x 164mm). Half-title. Half-tone frontispiece and illustrations after Sidney Paget. (Half-title misbound before frontispiece, skilfully repaired clean tear affecting one line on 11/1.) 20th-century blue crushed morocco gilt by Bayntun (Rivière), the covers with gilt double-fillet borders, the spine gilt in 6 compartments divided by raised bands, titled in 2 compartments and dated at the foot, the other compartments decorated with a central gilt art nouveau flower tool within gilt frames, gilt board edges, turn-ins guilt with an art nouveau floral roll-tool, gilt edges, original gilt cloth covers and spine laid down and bound in at the end (cloth covers a spine lightly rubbed and marked). Provenance: 'J.K Dick-Cunyngham [...] from Harry D-C. March 28th. 1894' (washed inscription on verso of frontispiece).
