Contemporary olive morocco gilt, spines in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second and third, the others with simple double-fillet borders, gilt edges (light fading to spines).
A FINE COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION, with the plates organized systematically by order and family, rather than numerically as issued. Each plate includes a representation of a British native plant, and in many cases the various juvenile stages of the insect. Nissen ZBI 1000. (8)
