2 volumes, 4° (293 x 227mm), engraved frontispiece, double-page plan, and 25 plates, EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED WITH 6 FINE ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS, 4 BY FREDERICK NASH, and numerous engraved plates and portraits, 19th-century fawn morocco, gilt, by Hering, covers with double-filet ruled borders, spines gilt in compartments, gilt edges (lightly rubbed).

Frederick Nash (1782-1856) was Architectural Draughtsman to the Society of Antiquaries. Turner considered him the finest architectural painter of his day. The watercolour of the White Tower was used as the basis for the engraving by J. Pye; and two other works on London, J.W. Archer Vestiges of Old London (London, 1851) and Charles Welch History of the Tower Bridge (London, 1894), both finely bound in morocco. (4)
