Half-title to volume I, 2 hand-coloured engraved frontispieces, 11 plates, EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED with c.200 portraits, plates and views, many inlaid to size or mounted on thick paper. (Lacking half-title to volume II and advertisement leaf, the view of Audley End loosely inserted in volume II.) 20th-century blue levant morocco, gilt, by Bayntun, covers with ruled gilt borders enclosing gilt arms, spines gilt in six compartments with ruled panels, gilt edges, (edges slightly scuffed).
A handsome extra-illustrated copy of the Braybrooke Pepys, with a fascinating range of portraits including many from Pierce Tempest's Cries of London, 1711, various views of Oxford and London, and the bookplate of Samuel Pepys. (2)
