the oval seal head with the arms, thought to be John Rawson (1470?-1547), the supporters as rampant lions with coronet over, mounted on a later reeded treen handle, the seal -- 1in. (2.5cm.) wide, 3¼in. (8.2cm.) including handle

John (Rawson) Viscount Clontarff was created a Viscount on 20th June 1541, the seal is therefore thought to date between 1541 and 1547, he had no heirs to inherit the title.
