each with bar top-rail and ball decorated splats, with a tablet centred turned lower rail and projecting turned wings, flattened outswept arms on turned supports, with wicker seat on turned legs joined by multiple stretchers

Lot Essay

On each of these chairs, the seat (made by a basket weaver) has been deliberately designed to allow for a space towards the rear of the seat, through which has been threaded a riven strip as a decorative feature.
