A French mahogany, kingwood crossbanded and ormolu mounted bureau plat, 19th century
In the Louis XVI style, of large proportions, the rectangular top crossbanded and of broken and recessed outline, inset with a panel of tooled dark green leather, with a moulded brass border and crossbanded edge, having three drawers to either side in the frieze, the drawer fronts veneered a quatre faces, crossbanded and bordered with foliate and beaded moulding, applied with ribband and laurel key plates and foliate handle pulls, on square tapering fluted legs headed with panels with foliate berried paterae hung with drapery and terminating in acanthus leaf knopped square gaitered feet joined by feather veneered cross stretchers centred by foliate paterae
