cover 1870 (18 May) entire letter from Pretoria to Colesberg, rated "6" in red crayon and bearing imperforate 1/- deep green with good to large margins and cancelled by four-ring target obliterator, Pretoria and Colesberg c.d.s. on face, Potchefstroom c.d.s. on reverse; accompanied by a letter from Alan Drysdall attempting to identify the adhesive and the reason for its usage on this cover. Also 1900 envelope registered from the French Vice Consulate in Johannesburg to Paris and franked at 11½d.
