A Fine Saxon Left-Hand Dagger
Circa 1610
With broad tapering blade of flattened diamond section with narrow central fuller on each side of the forte, the iron hilt with strongly-arched flat quillons with spatulate 'fish-tail' ends with central flutes, large side-ring filled with a pierced plate, octagonal pommel, and wooden grip bound with fine steel wire, in associated wooden scabbard covered with tooled black leather, with iron locket and chape, the former with belt loop, the hilt retaining some of its original blued finish
