An English Basket-Hilted Broadsword
Circa 1650
With wide flat tapering blade with two fullers on each side of the forte indistinctly stamped 'Andria Ferara' with the spurious date '1515' four times, iron 'mortuary' hilt chiselled in low relief with shells, scrolls, and foliage, and comprising solid guard turned up at the front and linked to the pommel by three vertical bars reinforced by four further bars in the form of scrolls, and lemon-shaped pommel (grip missing, rust patinated throughout)
