Two German Lance-Rests
The first from a 'Maximilian' armour of circa 1530
Each of steel, the first comprising a semi-circular base-plate pierced and threaded for two attachment screws with slotted domed heads, and carrying a slender pivoted slightly downcurved rest, the edges partly decorated with file-roping; the second with shaped base-plate pierced and threaded for four attachment screws (two missing) with domed slotted heads, and carrying a heavy slightly downcurved pivoted rest of inverted 'L' section with an internal spring-operated locking-lever
