The first with later barrel and spurious War Department mark, plain cylinder (associated ?), iron trigger-guard and grip-strap, and walnut grips, the rammer numbered '3037' (refinished throughout, and with surface pitting); the second with fluted barrel block, scroll engraved action engraved 'J.R. Cooper. Patentee', under-hammer and ring-trigger, and walnut grips (some wear and minor pitting), Birmingham proof marks
