A 22-Bore Caucasian Miquelet-Lock Holster Pistol
Dated 1277 A.H./1860 A.D.
With etched barrel retained by two nielloed silver bands (the third missing) and chiselled in low relief with scrollwork on a gilt ground (gilding worn) and with a gold-damascened band at the muzzle, the breech with a gold-lined mark, dated characteristic lock (mechanism defective) overlaid with silver panels finely decorated with nielloed arabesques, and with the maker's signature 'Muhammad' and the owner's name 'Ibrahim' in Arabic, long barrel back-strap decorated with further nielloed arabesques, extending to the pommel, leather-covered three-quarter stock, spherical pommel with nielloed silver cap and gilt-iron suspension ring, and no provision for a ramrod
